I'm bringing Sexy Back...
So, with the birth of 2 boys, the most recent just 2 months ago, this momma is ready for weight loss boot camp.
I love how the first few weeks following birth that needle on the scale is on a free fall downward. But, then it stops. And that stinks. Now, it's on me - mother nature has done her share to clean up those extra pregnancy pounds, but the rest of the work has landed squarely on my shoulders. My weight seems to have stabilized at 184 lbs. (Yes, I shared the number... I'm not pleased. But, if I'm going to make this work, I need to take a good, honest look at what's happening). Those last 2 digits need to be reversed in order to be at my ideal body weight. But a 10% loss is my first goal, which I think I can do by summer's end.
So, I'm starting back on Weight Watchers again, which I've had great success with in the past. I'm planning for it to work again. Not hoping - hope is too passive. To make this work, I need to be an active participant. The first couple of days have been a little challenging - I still have a dish of M & Ms sitting in my living room - that may have something to do with it. As a lifelong chocolate addict, I also realize that I need to curtail my binges. On the bright side, I was within 1 or 2 points for my daily allowance - and that was before I realized I got extra points for the day because I'm continuing to breastfeed.
Jay is also planning to work on some weight loss, as all the weight he lost when we moved to Rochester is slowly creeping back up. I'm encouraging him to try Weight Watchers as well, but he's skeptical. I'm hoping when he sees my success (which I will have!) he'll be more on board, and ditch his more laissez-faire approach. We'll see.....
