Stage One: Operation Coup d'Fat
Okay, here's the thing:
Maureen and I are known for our revolutionary coups. And although we'll never top Coup d'Frech, we will aim for a close second with Coup d'Fat. That's right. The jiggle's gotta go. So. Here's what we're doing: we're totally using, but bunking, the Weight Watchers system and figuring out our own points per day and points per food. Here are our essential tools:
http://quiddity.cc/rachel/diet/wwfoods.htm#T -- This will give us the point value for various foods.
http://www.peertrainer.com/articles/weight_watchers_points.htm -- Toward the bottom of this site, we find how many points we should be eating per day.
http://www.webmilhouse.com/pointcalc.php -- And THIS handy dandy calculator allows us to determine the point value of foods Site #1 missed.
YES!
Okay, so here is what I had today (we'll ignore all previous days since I'm probably WAY over my limit--although I probably am today, too).
2 slices of wheat bread = 4 pts
2 tbsp. peanut butter = 4 pts
2 Frankfurters, beef and pork, regular = 10 points (eep!)
1/4 c. ketchup = 1 pt
1 Caesar salad, 3 c. = 7 pts
1 Chicken breast, grilled = 3 pts.
1 can of Sprite = 3 pts.
2 glasses of Lemonade = 4 pts.
GRAND TOTAL: 36 pts.
HA! According to Site # 2, I'm eating as much as someone over 350 lbs could eat. No WONDER I've gained weight these past few months!! Double what I SHOULD be eating. Yikes! And I really didn't think I ate that badly. Toast for breakfast, hot dogs for lunch, salad for dinner... Man, I will DEFINITELY starve on this plan. Ha! Those hot dogs are DEFINITELY killer. Don't know how I'm going to survive a Cubs game...
Okay, so goal for tomorrow. 18-23 points. (This could be tough because we have an English department cookout tomorrow evening). Here is my plan (it gives me ten points for dinner):
1/2 c. apple sauce = 1 pt.
2 slices wheat bread = 4 pts.
1 tbsp. peanut butter = 2 pts.
1 tbsp. jelly = 1 pt.
1 Frankfurter = 5 pts.
12 tortilla chips (1 oz) = 3 pts.
1/4 c. guacamole = 2 pts.
GRAND TOTAL: 18 pts!!! AND that leaves me a little wiggle room. I just better not have too much dessert or too many Doritos. Oooh, but I didn't include my hamburger bun.
Okay, I think I can DEFINITELY do this tomorrow. Dude -- I could probably do this every day!! Especially if I don't have a Frankfurter (ha!) every day. Those definitely add up. I wonder which is worse: hamburger or hot dog? It looks like, depending on size, a hamburger can vary from 3-9 points. Wow!
I will report back tomorrow!
